J&Bs staff and customers take the plunge

Our hospitals are your hospitals. If you live in Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole or anywhere else nearby, chances are that you or someone close to you has been treated in one of our wonderful hospitals.

That’s why the support of local small businesses like J&Bs Plumbing & Heating Supplies matters so much to Bournemouth Hospital Charity.

Recently, nine very brave J&Bs staff and customers went to dizzying lengths to show their support – plunging more than 15,000ft through the skies during a tandem skydive fundraising event.

As a result of their daring deed, the nine J&Bs skydivers are aiming to raise £4,000 towards new equipment, enhancements and training at the Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospitals.

J&Bs’s Director of Trading, Craig Mew, says Bournemouth Hospital Charity is very close to the hearts of the company’s staff, as well as their customers.

“The Royal Bournemouth Hospital has helped to treat and take care of many of our friends, family and loved ones over the years and will continue to do so in the future,” says Craig.

“The weather was perfect and all in all we had a fantastic day. Some real personal achievements were accomplished.  Some of the team were petrified of heights and some struggled with motion sickness, but we all came together to spur each other on and it really was moving to watch everyone’s individual journeys.”

The J&Bs crew joined members of the public and hospital staff who were also taking to the skies, watched by a crowd of supportive onlookers.

“Our customers, family members, colleagues and friends were all generous in donating and many came down on the day to show their support,” Craig adds. “The Events Team from the charity were also there on the day cheering us on, which was really humbling.

“All in all a great day, supporting an even greater cause.”

Support from businesses like J&Bs is vital to our efforts to provide new equipment, training and improvements to our hospitals.
