March for Men raises £28,400 for men’s healthcare
Men’s health event March for Men raises £28,400 for Urology department at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital
Nearly 300 supporters came together at Bournemouth Pier Approach to walk, jog and run for the thousands of men’s health patients that the Royal Bournemouth Hospital supports every year.
Karen Smith, Senior Events and Challenges Fundraiser at Bournemouth Hospital Charity said,
“The turnout for this event was incredible and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. Our target for this event was £20,000, and we are thrilled that we were able to surpass this amount so significantly, thanks to the generous donations and sponsorship from our incredible supporters.”
Since 2014, Bournemouth Hospital Charity has organised March for Men for the public to take part in, in order to raise awareness of the health issues that men face in our local community. All proceeds of the yearly event go directly to men’s health projects at the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals.
Debbie Anderson, Head of Fundraising at Bournemouth Hospital Charity said,
“This amount will be used to fund men’s health projects in the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, so that our staff can continue to go above and beyond for our patients and offer a first class service. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our volunteers, our Consultant Urologist Kevin Turner, Rapid Relief and The Bright Centre – without their help, this event would not have been possible.”
