‘Charity of the Year’ for Rock Star Awards
Bournemouth Hospital Charity is delighted to have been named ‘Charity of the Year’ for the 2017 Rock Star Awards.
The awards, to be held on Thursday 19 October at Bournemouth’s O2 Academy, recognise the professional efforts of people aged between 16-26.
The Rock Star Awards have been organised by Rock Recruitment Solutions since 2012, with over 340 people having attended last year’s ceremony.
Funds raised from the awards will go to support BERTIE online, an educational online course which is being developed to help children and young people to learn about how to manage type 1 diabetes.
Angela Piromalli, Managing Director of Rock Recruitment Solutions said:
“It is especially important to me that any funds we raise through the Rock Star Awards go to local causes and help young people in our own community, so we have chosen to work with Bournemouth Hospital Charity to support the Diabetes Department.”
“I couldn’t be more delighted to be supporting and raising funds for BERTIE. Having been through the course myself I know how valuable and essential it is to young people or anyone with type 1 diabetes.“
A launch event for this year’s edition will be held on Thursday 27 April at the Executive Business Centre of Bournemouth University, from 5.00pm – 7.00pm, which Bournemouth Hospital Charity will proudly attend.
Bournemouth Hospital Charity’s Corporate Fundraiser, Maria Tidy, says the team are thrilled to have been chosen as Charity of the Year for this year’s Rock Star Awards.
“We’re really looking forward to working with organisers, sponsors and nominees for this fantastic event,” says Maria.
“It’s great to celebrate Dorset’s many talented young people whilst also raising money for those young people in the area who are living with diabetes.”
