“Offering comfort and support to patients with cancer, their loved ones and carers”

When you face cancer, you have to consider a lot more than just treatment.

For you, your family, loved ones and carers, there can be many day-to-day needs and challenges that require specialist attention.

If these needs aren’t met, they could affect your ability to cope with the disease as well as your quality of life.

To help address some of these challenges, we need your support to fund a number of projects that will make the treatment of cancer in our hospitals more effective, efficient and convenient.

These include:

  • Employing a dedicated full time cancer care specialist nurse
  • Employing a part time cancer care social worker
  • Offering yoga classes for cancer patients
  • Providing Hospedia TV for cancer patients treated in Ward 11

Not only will these provide comfort and support for patients and their loved ones, they will also help to reduce some of the emotional and financial stresses they must face.

Both the specialist nurse and the social worker will be ward-based, meaning they will be able to support patients, families, carers and colleagues.
